Why doesn't my OMAP3-based Development Kit boot from the SD card?

Make sure that the SD card was formatted for FAT32 using the HP formatting tool 2.0.6 (see this FAQ).
Copy the MLO file to the SD card before any other files. After the MLO file has been copied to the properly formatted SD card, other files can be added.
