A new standard in drug testing

Medtox wanted to improve the way companies and caregivers screen for drug and chemical abuse by creating their first electronic reader to improve testing throughput and consistency. Medtox partnered with Logic to develop the reader technology platform as well as the product. Logic integrated processes from design and engineering through new product introduction and manufacturing to bring an easy-to-use, reliable instrument to market for Medtox.   

FAST FORWARD

From concept to market, Logic managed the lifecycle of the product. Logic conducted user research to define product requirements and design for manufacturing, developed the new scanning technology, utilized Logic Development Kits to decrease development time, engineered electronics, provided full system implementation, and wrote software. Logic supported the customer throughout validation testing and regulatory certification and launch. 

FINISH

The MedtoxScan sets a new standard for drug testing efficiency and reliability as a low cost, low maintenance product. Medtox can focus on building recurring sales of testing strips and accessories.  Logic is working on second generation feature options and additional cost reductions.

What Our Groups Did

Product Design

Performed research utilizing data from clinical visits.

Engineered the moving parts including the scanning equipment. Designed responsibly with low-cost implementation in mind.

Designed the softcore processor and implemented the scanning technologies.

Created software that is updateable on-line and in-field via SD card.
