Technical Execution Explained – Key Roles & Responsibilities

New product development requires many different people’s involvement. Here we have highlighted the roles that are responsible or accountable for the outcome of the Technical Execution Stage.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITY
Product Management Actively monitor the development process, guiding inevitable changes and tradeoffs necessary to stay within constraints while ensuring an end product that meets critical needs.
Quality Actively monitor the development process and guide and document quality processes throughout. Ensure regulatory considerations are being actively addressed and documented. Prepare submission documents.
Engineering Develop according to guidance from product management and quality teams. Address challenges and tradeoffs.
Program Management Actively review the program, communicating to all parties’ status on scope, schedule and budget. Manage tradeoffs and conflicts as they arise.
Executive Signoff as required based on recommendation from the team.
